Economic, financial and environmental evaluation of canopy use in pistachio orchards

Abstract

The required technical data is obtained from the results of other projects of the main plan, and the economic data is extracted through interviews with the producers and consumers of shade/net. The economic justification of the investment is done by calculating the net present value (NPV per monetary unit) and the internal rate of return (IRR per percentage unit). Finally, partial budgeting will be used for economic evaluation. For this purpose, there are no added benefits. It is obtained from the use of the tour by subtracting the benefits in the state without the tour from the benefits in the presence of the tour. The added costs resulting from the use of the tour are calculated by subtracting the costs in the case of no tour from the costs in the case of the tour. Net profit is obtained by subtracting the added cost from the added profit. The results of the research show that in the discount rate of 20 percentage, which can be a standard for investment decisions to some extent in Iran's economic conditions. It is only economical to use the proposed shade/net meshed system in a pistachio orchard, if its current performance (in the conditions before using the shade/on meshed) is higher than 947 kilograms per hectare per year. According to the results of the research, 62 percent of pistachio orchards in Anar and Rafsanjan cities have a yield higher than 947 kilograms per hectare
