Abstract
In order to investigate and compare the growth traits of pistachio cultivars in Saman, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, 8 clones and female pistachio cultivars including Akbari clone, Ahmad Aghaei clone, Fandoghi, Ahmad Aghaei, Akbari, Kaleh Ghochi, Abbas Ali Damghan and Badami Sefid were studied in a randomized complete block design with three replications. A row (6 trees) of male pistachio trees was used for pollination. Vegetative characteristics such as branch growth, trunk diameter, crown diameter, tree height, number of 3- or 5-leaflet leaves were recorded and noted. The results of this study showed that there were significant differences in all measured traits between cultivars/clones. The lowest tree height was for the Fandoghi clone (113.6 cm) while the highest was for Abbasali Damghan (152.6 cm) (p<0.05). The highest crown length was related to Kalle Ghochi and Ahmad Aghaei, and the lowest was related to Clone Fandoghi and Abbas Ali Damghan. Also, the lowest trunk diameter was related to Badami Sefid and Abbas Ali Damghan, and the highest was related to Ahmad Aghaei (35.5 cm). Also, the lowest number of leaves was found in the cultivars Abbas Ali Damghan and Kaleh Ghochi.
